ScotShoot.com focuses on promoting non-commercial shooting clubs and grounds that may not otherwise have a presence on the internet. We also list national fixtures of interest to the club shooter, such as Game Fairs, charity shoots etc. The site is maintained by Steve Wilson from Lorn Clay Target Club, Oban, and is run as a hobby.

How do I get a list of all shooting dates that I can print out at home?

On any page, click the [download as PDF] link. This will open the list as an Adobe PDF file for you to save or print off in a printer-friendly format.

How can I see a calendar of shooting dates for my local club?

Click on “Club Grounds” link, then click on your club name, scroll down to the bottom and click [view as calendar] or [download calendar as PDF]

How do I get directions to a shooting ground?

Click on “Club Grounds” link, then “Directions” link. Alternatively on any page that shows a Google Map of a shooting ground, you can click on the map marker, then click the “Directions” link shown in the description bubble

How do I find out about clay pigeon shooting near me?

Click the “Find my nearest club” link. Enter your postcode (or just the first part) or town, set the radius as required, and click Search button. You will see all nearby clubs pinpointed on the map. Above the map is a dropdown list of all nearby clubs, closest first. Click any name or pinpoint for more info about the ground.

How can I get these dates onto my iphone/iPad calendar?

A link to an iCal file containing up-to-date events is available on any events listing page.

These instructions will add a calendar to your iOS device that will stay up-to-date with any changes made on this website. It is hopefully easy to adapt the instructions for user with Google Calendar, Android and MS Outlook.

On your iPhone,

  • Settings–>Mail–>contacts–>calendars
  • Add Account
  • Other
  • Add Subscribed Calendar
  • Events for all locations: enter this address: www.scotshoot.com/events.ics
  • Events for one location: go to the club ground page, then copy the link from there [Download iCal]
  • click through the message when it warns about not connecting via https.

This will download the events to your phone.
To refresh a subscribed calendar on your iPhone, open the calendar, click “Calendars” at the bottom of the page, then drag the page down and release to refresh.

How do I get my shoot listed on Scotshoot.com

Email us at events@scotshoot.com. If you have many events, we can send you an Excel template to fill in. Alternatively we can create an account for you to manage your own events

How can I display a list of events on our own club’s website?

You can add an iFrame that displays either a calendar or list of events to your website. The page will then remain in sync with ScotShoot.com, and can be formatted with your own styleheet.

How do I add our club to your website?

Please get in touch via email events@scotshoot.com, and give us as much information as you can about your ground – including an accurate GPS or Google Maps location please. Accurate directions, start times, any restrictions on Lead shot, entry fees, usual start times, any catering, toilets, shelter, cartridges for sale etc etc – anything you might think useful.
